This barn was built around 1932, as part of a dairy farm. It remained in the family as long as it stood. There was some shifting of the walls and damage done to the foundation, probably due to the earthquake of 1948. Then a piece of the roof was lost and the rains did their dirty work. A small forest of trees sprouted within the structure, and could be seen poking out through the roof. In August of 2008 I received an urgent email that the barn was finally coming down. I arrived in time to find only the front wall still up, looking like scenery on some old movie studio.
