Two dead trees were the hallmark of this three-cupola barn (one of them came down a couple of years ago). It is visible from Sequim-Dungeness as you approach Anderson and the old Dungeness Schoolhouse. It was built in 1923 by Joe Eberle. At one time it was ready to fall down, but was restored to better-than-new thanks to insurance money from a (literal) windfall.
I had an opportunity to speak briefly with Mrs. Eberle in 2005. She said she misses the activity and routines of farm life, and is angry with the crows and ravens for driving out the barn owls.
