The barn was built in 1928 by David Kerby and his sons, and a dairy was operated there from 1948 to 1960. The barn was razed in 1978, although the silo was left standing. A real estate office now occupies the site.
It was a very large and impressive barn and was visible from the main road going into Sequim, just past the Rhodefer place. It was big enough to be a landmark in its day. There may have been advertising painted on it at one time. It is probably better known as the Harold Evans barn, as he was the owner during its dairy days.
