Barn # 60 Priest Barn
Sequim

GONE! Was on the west side of Priest Road south of Hendrickson

When my first pictures were taken in 2003 (see above) the barn was still in pretty good shape. By Spring of 2005 there were signs of damage to the lower roof apron on the south. In the Fall of 2006 the entire lower roof section was gone, along with a large part of that wall. By January of 2007 another big piece of roof has gone missing, and by May the historic old barn was gone.

The George and Jennie Priest family moved to Sequim in 1890 from Ontario, Canada, and settled on a 160-acre homestead. They had 14 children. Nora May Priest, daughter of George and Jennie, would tell stories of her childhood and the barn dances they had. She said her dad played the fiddle and everyone from miles around would come out to the barn dances. This barn was built by Robert Priest, Sr. in the early 1900s.
