Until recently, the property holding the barn and neighboring house was owned by Clallam County Commissioner Steve Tharinger. Now the county owns it, and in July of 2010 the house was moved a couple of miles away. Two months later they started taking the barn apart, and by the spring of 2011 it was gone. The land is now being returned to the River.
